Position Summary : This individual will manage key supplier relationships, negotiate critical supply contracts, including assembling and analyzing market data, evaluating supply alternatives and crafting negotiating strategies.

This individual will champion continuous development of suppliers to meet Pall Preferred / Qualified Suppliers (Forward Procurement List) and 3P,Q&L requirements, participate in design reviews with R&D and suppliers on manufacturability & raw material selection in order to achieve most optimal component cost.

This individual will support, monitor, evaluate, and mentor the local Strategic Sourcing team members while ensuring policies and procedures regarding compliance, commitments, early involvement, supplier selection, supplier evaluation, and supplier development are fully understood, and implemented.

Uses Danaher Business System (DBS) tools and processes to lead people and projects.Primary Responsibilities :

  • Evaluates existing vendor base, to establish current state. Once established define future state / best in class supply chain / vendor design requirements.
  • Uses DBS tools (Kaizen, Kanban, and other) when leading people or completing projects.
  • Interfaces with decentralized procurement teams to establish local manufacturing site inputs / requirements are aligned with center led strategy.
  • Develops vendor rationalization program, with execution timeline
  • Defines opportunities within Emerging Markets for new sources of supply (China, India, Central / Eastern Europe, Latin America)
  • Categorizes the required vendor spend, to be managed via multiyear Pall contracts, to manage risk, liability and to maximize 3P, Q&L outputs.
  • Designs, and lead contract negotiations
  • Has detailed understanding of macro-economic factors affecting, driving and influencing category management.
  • Maximizes 3P, Q&L outputs (Price, Package Size, Payment Terms, Quality, and Lead Time) for year over year working capital improvements.
  • Designs and leads vendor transitions (Outsourcing, Insourcing, Vendor to Vendor)
  • Strong understanding of Lean methodologies, principles and tools
  • Ensures logistics model for Total landed cost of supply is maximized
  • Prioritizes highest level of quality, and continuity of supply for commodity / category
  • Supports R&D / engineering on all New Product Development (NPI), and introduction programs
  • Supports cross-functional efforts to reduce costs, standardize components through the VEVA process
  • Understands market place technologies, for adoption, and incorporation into Pall’s value proposition.
  • Critical to ensure strong, value-adding relationships with suppliers, internal customers, and cross-functional departments
  • Skills and Knowledge :

  • Highly effective communication and facilitation skills.
  • Proven negotiation skills, with demonstrated performance results
  • Understand and formulate the business requirements for a commercial trade contract.
  • Conducted business travel outside of North American. Has a current valid passport.
  • Global sourcing experience for a global multinational manufacturing company.
  • Strong cultural sensitivity to manage relationships across global boundaries, and time zones.
  • Leadership capabilities to deliver results and to build cross-cultural teams.
  • Tactical strength and abilities to support manufacturing locations globally.
  • Experience in leading low cost country sourcing projects through Cradle to Grave .
  • Highly analytical and High Integrity Level.
  • Multilingual ability (both written and oral) an advantage.
  • Experienced with the usage of electronic sourcing tools for RFI, RFQ, Reverse Auction
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related discipline
  • 7+ years of procurement / commodity management experience
  • 3+ years management experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • ISM or CPM Certification preferred
  • Additional Requirements :

  • Business travel requirements up to 50%
