We are seeking a Financial Lines Claims Adjuster to manage Financial Lines Claims in Puerto Rico from coverage inquiry through legal liability assessment and quantum analysis, to timely and accurate resolution;
ensuring mitigation of indemnity and expense exposure while communicating developments and outcomes as necessary to all key internal and external stakeholders.
Provide a high standard of customer service and adherence to legal and regulatory requirements.
Functional Responsibilities :
Managing key claims handling inquiry; coverage determination, quantum analysis and legal liability assessment where appropriate within authority limits and providing a consistently strong standard of customer service including preparing timely coverage assessments and reservation / denial letters.
Broader internal / external stakeholder communication where required
Strive for continuous improvement on claim file handling with feedback and support through the Quality Assurance Review processes
Work closely with underwriters in marketing efforts in selling claims service.
Contribute to maintenance of Financial Lines claims best practice procedures consistent with global best practice.
Demonstrate a high standard of technical claims competence.
Participate in client review and Profit Center meetings
Timely, accurate and customer focused claim resolution
Effective communication to internal stakeholders and external stakeholders.
Financial control through consistent reserve and other financial transaction discipline
Accurate and consistent policy interpretation against claims of low complexity
Proactively identify and review suspect / fraudulent claims on a consistent basis in line with company's internal requirements.
Foster good relationships with internal and external customers and drive excellent customer service.
Performs other related duties as assigned or required.
Manages pending claims to meet company quality criteria.
Leadership skills :
Demonstrate strong communication skills, both written & verbal in both Spanish and English
Time management ability to manage & prioritize workload and diary management.
Ability to contribute effectively within a team environment.
Ability to work with claims stakeholders to effectively direct claims strategy.
Participate in client review and Profit Centre meetings.
Technical Skills and Expertise
Policy language skills enabling accurate and consistent policy wording interpretation.
Knowledge of insurance regulatory and / or procedural requirements in Puerto Rico.
Effectively following up on recommendations from technical claims audits and continuous claim handling improvement
Confident using computer in a busy paperless environment
Minimum Requirements :
B.A. or Paralegal required
Three (3) years related experience
Adjusters License Preferred
