General Purpose of the Position :
Delivery driver will be responsible for making deliveries and pickups in a timely manner within the entire island. Driver will need to provide immediate service to concerns of the receiving personnel and will be responsible to call in and report any issues or problems to supervisor or office.
Driver must fill out complete and accurately : fleet / transportation data log, manifest and any other documentation required by supervisor daily.
Will be held accountable for the condition and safety of delivery truck and equipment provided. Must maintain a clean driving record.
Additional responsibilities include customer service- directing concerns to the proper department, organized record keeping of information / paperwork, diligence with delivery stops, adherence to company compliancy protocols and report misuse of company property and or time.
This is a high safety risk and time sensitive position. Driver will be committed to working in a safe and healthy work environment and will remain within all DOT guidelines.
Employee must pass a background check, pre-employment post offer drug screen and lifting test
Must be able to communicate well with others and motivate crew to achieve daily goals.
Employee must have a valid and clear of incidents CDL category 9 driver’s license
Pass the minimum hiring requirements
Ability to handle multiple tasks
Experience to fulfill the essential functions and responsibilities
Extensive working knowledge in transportation, maneuvering large vehicles and DOT road laws.
One year minimum driving experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Observation and execution of transportation duties
Responsible for working with management in warehouse departments to ensure an efficient, effective warehouse / fleet program in a 24-
hour, seven-day-per-week operations.
Adhere to budget requirements.
Review and submit required documentation for supervisor for the fleet / transpiration department.
Responsible for reporting to management any necessary disciplinary measures that need to be taken within the operating unit.
Communication alerts and or verbal / written notifications to crew regarding deliveries and customer concerns
Handling of late call-in’s, 2nd runs, emergency deliveries
Securing and cleaning equipment and truck at the end of the shift.
Follow the SOP’s & PWM’s (Preferred Work Methods) for warehouse / office
Other duties as assigned
Good attendance and adherence to work schedule
Work Environment :
Fleet environment- temperatures varying from -70 to 100degrees Fahrenheit
Warehouse environment occasionally- temperatures varying from 38 to 75 degrees Fahrenheit
Shifts start between 2-8 : 30 a.m. and ends when the work is completed
Shifts generally are between 6 and 10 hours long included lunch hour, overtime as needed
Work schedule are Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturdays & nights
Physical Requirements :
Able to stand, sit and walk 90% of shift.
Able to twist, turn, stoop, bend, squat, kneel, crawl, climb, step up, step down, balance, reach upward, reach forward, use wrists, grasp, pinch, manipulate objects, push, pull, use fingers and arms, lift office materials.
Able to lift / pick up and put down boxes 70lbs.
Sit for extended periods and perform repetitive movements in wrists and arms on a frequent basis.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Able to be occasionally exposed to cold room temperatures ranging from 32 degrees to freezing temperatures in the warehouse.
Educational Requirements :
High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred.
