BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER - RETAIL BANKING

JobSummary

The Deposit Relationship Manager is responsible for the administration and efficient daily operation of the Deposit Unit and the work assigned to the Deposit Relationship Officer, including product sales, customer service, security and safety in accordance with the Bank's policies and objectives.

  • Developing new retail & commercial deposit business; promotes the sales and service culture through coaching, guidance and staff motivation;
  • achieves individual and unit sales goals through new business sales, referrals and retention of account relationships. Provides leadership, training and supervision for Deposit Unit.

    May perform duties in the absence of the Deposit Relationship Officer or other such management capacities as directed by the Retail & Transaction Banking Manager.

    EssentialResponsibilities

    Responsible for achievement of unit goal

    Define roles of Deposit Relationship Officers

    Identify Strategy for Deposit Growth through both new and existing clients

  • Design and implement plan to achieve efficiency and accuracy in identifying and promoting deposit product / sales
  • Promote deposit growth and deposit retention; monitor deposit activity and align strategies accordingly
  • Attends Manager, Sales and other meetings, as per assigned by the Retail & Transaction Banking Manager.

    Reviews and Approves Deposit Relationship Officers work plans and client visits Achieve Sales Target as communicated in the Deposit Relationship Officer Scorecard.

    Provides Status Reports and Presentations to Management

  • Holds weekly / periodically staff meetings with Deposit Relationship Officers
  • Ensures Deposit Relationship Officers processes strong knowledge of banking products, including market competition,

    In order for them to be able to correctly promote and sell deposit product

    Identifies area of improvement to staff and assigns training and facilitates coaching to optimize their potential

    Designs and execute plans and strategies for Deposit Relationship Officers to ensure that the objectives are achieved.

    Performs mid-year and annual performance evaluations based on quantifiable and objective criteria, utilizing bank forms and checklists designed for evaluations.

    Complieswithrelatedpolicies,procedures,lawsandregulationsincludingbut notlimitedtoanti-moneylaundering,USPatriotAct,BankSecrecyAct,OFAC,fraudprotection,security procedures,andprivacyandconfidentialityrequirements.

    Performsanyandallotheradditionaldutiesasmaybeassigned.

    SupervisoryResponsibilities

    This position has direct supervisory responsibilities over the Deposit Relationship Officers.

    Work Environment

    Customary office environment together with outside sales environment.The employee is required to stand, walk and perform marketplace visits and activities.

    The employee is required to drive to customers’ place of business.Mayberequiredtoworkextendedhours, includingholidays,shouldthesecoincidewithmonthlyclosingprocessorotherprojects / implementations.

    Must be available for travel within and outside of Puerto Rico as necessary.

    Minimum Performance Standards

    Compliance with periodical scorecards as assigned

    Minimum Requirements

    Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, or related area and a minimum of five (5) years of experience in the Banking industry related to Sales and Supervision.

    This position must have :

  • Excellent verbal and written and presentation skills in both English and Spanish
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience in preparing and analyzing reports
  • Computer literate in the use of MS Office and internet
  • Leadership, administrative and supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of banking regulations as Compliance requirements, such as, Know Your Customer, Bank Secrecy Act, amongst others
  • Good analytical skills, multitask, organized, problem solving, goal oriented and able to work under pressure.
  • Valid driver’s license and car in good conditions
  • Available to work holidays, weekends and flexible schedules
