The Supervisory Respiratory Therapist is a licensed and will have a certificate as an RRT from the NBRC or certificate from another body which the NBRC recognizes as its credentialing .
Serve as Supervisory Registered Respiratory Therapist of the Respiratory Care Unit and responsible for the delivery of respiratory care services at the VA Caribbean Healthcare System.
Is responsible of supervising three or more employees whose work involves providing respiratory or related care.
As part of the VA Caribbean Healthcare System Respiratory Care Team, the Registered Respiratory Therapist performs duties that include, but are not limited to :
1. Assigns and explains work requirements related to respiratory care for new or changed, as well as existing programs. The incumbent resolves technical work problems, including those not covered by precedents or established policies.
2. Delivers respiratory care as needed in the more complex respiratory care procedures and poor risk patients such as those in the older age group.
Participates in the audit of respiratory care, recommending changes where indicates
3.Incumbent plans work schedule and sequence of operations, recommends and implements changes in organization or work assignments to improve work, services, jobs satisfaction, etc.
4.Prepares formal evaluations of the performance of employees or other subordinates and reviews evaluations prepared by employees and higher level supervisors informed of matters that affect them.
Has the authority to prepare and follow up actions for most supervisory personnel functions.
6.Monitors and evaluates treatment programs to update technological concepts and modiW treatment and participates in the audit of respiratory care, recommending changes where indicated.
8.Selects and participates with significant influence in selection of employees from eligible candidates.
Work Schedule : Monday to Friday - Night Shift from 10 : 00pm to 6 : 00am.
