JOB SUMMARY : Reporting to the Operations Manager, is responsible for providing timely production support by coordinating all activities related to production mechanics, spare parts, and PM program.

Responsible for leading projects on major equipment improvements and rebuilds. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Supervise the installation, repair, and maintenance of mechanical equipment and systems.
  • Plan and assign the work of subordinate employees, to review work performance and products to ensure conformance with established methods, policies, and procedures.
  • Coordinate activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities, and directing the work of subordinate employees.
  • Evaluate and verify employee performance through the review of completed work assignments and work techniques.
  • Identify staff development and training needs and ensures that training is obtained.
  • Ensure proper labor relations and conditions of employment are maintained.
  • Requisitions and / or purchases supplies, materials, and tools.
  • Inspect buildings in order to determine maintenance needs by visual observation, gages, meters, and other test devices.
  • Study blueprints and diagrams in order to plan material and labor needed to accomplish tasks.
  • Responsible for the Preventative Maintenance Program.
  • Maintenance of spare parts inventory.
  • Understands and follows all internal policies and procedures related to area of responsibility including design control, testing, and document control.
  • Responsible for project work including design, development, coordination, and implementation of new machinery, developments and / or modifications of existing equipment.
  • Work assignments will range form small-to-large in scope and complexity, including Facilities.

  • Complies and supports company’s safety policy and procedures including Quality System Regulations (QSR), ISO standard 13485-
  • 2003, Canadian MDR, PAL and other applicable regulations.

  • Performs other duties related to Manufacturing area as assigned by Operations Manager.
  • LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Exempt, hourly and nonexempt personnel as required by Site Leaders.
  • EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS :

  • BSIE, BSME, BSEE, EIT OR PE License preferred.
  • AFive to eight yrs. experience in high-tech manufacturing setting (Medical Device or Pharmaceutical, or Electronic) with working knowledge of electrical, mechanical boilers, air conditioning, plumbing, safety, and construction.
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma Tools and methodology, Green Belt certification a plus.
  • Teamwork, communication, positive attitude required to support the manufacturing environment.
  • Problem Solving able to perform root cause analysis and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Project Management able to effectively manage and complete multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Computer Skills Excellent computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office.
