Directs application of Information Technology for the Puerto Rico operations.Develops, in conjunction with senior corporate and site management, the IT strategic and tactical plans.

Plans, budgets, and manages all IT functions for the PR site.Determines appropriate composition of IT staff based on strategic plans.

Makes recommendations and drives approval, in conjunction with other departmental managers, for major system installations or changes and for obtaining required equipment and capital.

Works cohesively with corporate IT staff to accomplish IT objectives, as needed.Directs and supervises IT Department employees and monitors work product and general performance of departmental staff.

Ensures adherence of federal regulations and accurate documentation.General managerial functions as needed.

  • Extensive project management and vendor management skills, including vendor qualification, certification, and oversight
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, negotiation and persuasion skills, and analytical skills, including evaluation of costs and benefits
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish
  • Basic Personal Computer skills, including DOS, current versions of Windows
  • Basic network operating system skills including TCP / IP and Microsoft networking
  • Ability to perform tactical planning and strategic planning and budgeting
  • Aptitude to extensively interface with end user management on systems and process issues, top management on any issues, IT team members to collaborate on a wide variety of issues.
  • Must be able to give clear direction, communicate expectations, and provide feedback and performance evaluation to all levels of technical personnel.

  • Willing to travel

  • Generally, works in a closed environment, in office conditions, with moderate level of noise and controllable changes of temperature.
  • Needs to stand, walk and may be seated for a long period of time.
  • Uses hands to handle and reach.
  • Works with a personal computer and programs to prepare documents or reports.
  • Applies communication skills (advanced reading, writing, and technical skills) and mathematical concepts knowledge to perform work and coordinate with others.
  • Needs to have high analytical capacity and level of professionalism and judgement to resolve problems.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field

  • Over eight years of IT experience with at least five years at the supervisory or management level
  • Working knowledge and experience with programming languages, both procedural and graphical
  • Must be knowledgeable about trends in the industry
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with databases, from ISAM to relational
  • Must be knowledgeable of the database industry
  • Working knowledge of various databases and database applications
  • Must be conversant of the networking industry and trends along with current industry applications and tools, including Enterprise Resource Planning, Customer Relationship Management, E Commerce, etc.
